Blurb: Every other day, Kali D'Angelo is a normal sixteen-year-old girl. She goes to public high school. She attends pep rallies. She's human.

And then every day in between . . .She's something else entirely.

Though she still looks like herself, every twenty-four hours predatory instincts take over and Kali becomes a feared demon-hunter with the undeniable urge to hunt, trap, and kill zombies, hellhounds, and other supernatural creatures. Kali has no idea why she is the way she is, but she gives in to instinct anyway. Even though the government considers it environmental terrorism.

When Kali notices a mark on the lower back of a popular girl at school, she knows instantly that the girl is marked for death by one of these creatures. Kali has twenty-four hours to save her and, unfortunately, she'll have to do it as a human. With the help of a few new friends, Kali takes a risk that her human body might not survive. . .and learns the secrets of her mysterious condition in the process.

Review:
I loved Raised by Wolves so I knew I would love this book and I have to say that I enjoyed it more that Raised by wolves. This book was just fast paced, intense and got my heart racing. Kali, the main character, was awesome and I enjoyed seeing the world from her point of view.

Every twenty four hours Kali turns into someone that hunts demons and things that go bump in the night. It has it’s perks like being able to heal quickly and moving at quick paces but the problem is that it only happens every other day. When at school she sees a mark on a girl and realises that she will die if Kali can’t do something. Kali helps the girl but the mark ends up getting transferred to her. Now she has to save herself and things are getting complicated and her time is running out.

When I first read the blurb I knew I had to get this book because I’d never read anything like it before. It was new and interesting and just different. I love books that have characters who can kick ass. Kali was definitely that and even though she was sarcastic and hot-headed she was sweet at times and wanted to help people, even if they weren’t nice to her. But as well as liking Kali I liked Skylar and I actually cried at one point in this book but I won’t tell what part because that is for you to find out.

I have to warn you that if you are looking for a paranormal book with heaps of romance you might not want this or else you’ll be disappointed because there isn’t a lot of romance in this book. I think there might be in the second if there is one. Kali does meet a guy called Zev and I liked him but their relationship wasn’t a normal one at all. I look forward to seeing where their relationship will go and I actually like him.

I am looking forward to the next as this book had a great ending that left me wanting more. The action in this book was great and I am definitely looking forward to more of it. This book is different from Raised by Wolves but fans of that book will be sure to love this one!
